Academic Writing II for Research and Professional Purposes

This seminar will enable participants to consolidate the writing skills already acquired in Academic Writing I. Participants will also have the opportunity to gain insight into the format and style of a research paper. Particular attention will be paid to structure, coherent argumentation and appropriate punctuation. New participants are also welcome as the material from Academic Writing I can be provided in advance. For those who did not take part in the first day, it is strongly advisable to come with an written excerpt from your thesis or research paper for review and feedback during the seminar.

Frieda Frenzel

Lorraine Mannion is Irish and studied “Interpreting and Translating French/German/Italian” at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland and the University of East Anglia, England. She has been working as an adjunct lecturer in English at various universities in Berlin and the new federal states since 1998. She is also a certified translator/interpreter for the Berlin notaries and courts and regularly holds seminars in academic writing, presenting and teaching in English at several research institutes throughout Germany.
