The University of Potsdam, the University of Costa Rica, the National University (Costa Rica), the University of Panamá, in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) and the Central American Superior University Council (CSUCA), in the framework of the Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) program call for participating in the DIES Capacity Development Training Course Program on University Research Management (DIES-UNIREM) 2011-2012.






This program for capacity development in university research management emerges from the preoccupation of members of the academic communities of Central American institutions of Higher Education for the improvement of the quality of university management, especially in the field of research. Based upon former capacity development programs in quality management and management of reform processes in Higher Education supported by the German cooperation this program counts on financing by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), the contribution of experts from the University of Potsdam and other German universities, as well as the contribution of the participating Central American universities.
The program offers three modules in capacity development for personnel of public and private universities of Central America, México, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia and Chile, responding to a prioritization of topics according to the necessities expressed by the participating institutions. The three modules in 2011 and 2012 are complementary.

For the purpose of complying with these aims, a program of capacity development training will be organized in a series of modules to be carried out in the countries of the coordinating universities.
Participants are expected to participate in all of the three modules. The call and the selection will be carried through for all the modules once at the beginning. The number of participants is 20-25.
